Hello world!

I really hope this can be the first of many posts on this site, but it never seems to quite work that way does it? I must have created at least 5 different personal sites in the past couple of decades, which might still be hosted on some poor unfortunate server to this day. Each time you take ample time to ensure design is just the way you want it, the button colours and headings, the width and height of header images, only to deploy and forget for years to come.

Writing is hard. We’re in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis in 2020 at the moment and it’s the only reason I have time to write more than a “This is an upcoming post!” entry. I’m sure a big part of that is how critical we all are of our own writing. It’s easy enough to say “Just write something!” but no one wants mindless posts about nothing. However, considering this site is mainly for my benefit as a record of the things I’ve worked on, I might steer towards the mindless side.

I’d like to write the next post on what I learnt creating this site, using Jekyll and the Minimal Mistakes theme.
